Upcoming Test: Ancient India test will be next Wednesday, January 16. Constructed Response Questions are:
Compare and Contrast Buddhism and Hinduism (beliefs, religous texts, goals, etc.)
What was India’s caste system and how did it develop? (be specific and explain what the system is and some important aspects of it and how a person’s caste is determined)
Monday: Read the handouts entitled “Caste System” and “U.S. Social Class”
Tuesday: Compare the social classes of Ancient India with the United States
Wednesday: Read “The Legend of Buddha” and “Eight Fold Path”
Thursday: Used this time to finish the rock cartoon in science.
Friday: Read Basic Beliefs of Buddhism and Read pages 227-231 and the Hinduism handout. Students will begin to compare the two religions and complete this assignment on Monday.
